Meet Alexis Robinson. She's an entrepreneur, philanthropist and a long time advocate for women in the world of sports. Two and a half years ago, Alexis decided to take her lifelong passions and turn them into a career. She is now the founder and CEO of DiamondMPR, a public relations and marketing agency with an expertise in promoting athletes, entertainers and events.

Why do you do what you do?

I was a collegiate athlete in a family full of athletes, both collegiate and professional. When my tennis career was over, I knew I wanted to do something in the world of sports. It's all I've ever known and it's my happy place.

What is the best compliment you've ever received?

The best compliment I've ever received is that my work is coming to fruition as far as helping other females in sports and entertainment industry. I feel so lucky when it comes to the career I've been able to build and the connections I've been able to make, and it has all come together to allow me to help more girls get in this industry, which is my ultimate goal.

Where do you thrive?

I thrive in high pressure situations. My problem solving skills and ability to connect others make it really easy for me to get things done when the pressure's there.

What's the quirkiest part of your weekly routine?

I'd say it's quirky that there's probably 3-4 days a week where I don't even put on pants! haha! Working from home has given me that luxury.

If you could only have one app on your phone, what would it be?

Twitter. I get a laugh, information, new business, everything. It's great! I love it.

What's the biggest lesson you learned this past year?

No matter how hard you work to help others, there will still be people who will try to bring you down or change that narrative to undermine your efforts. It's sad, but I'm going to stay persistent on my initiative which is to see more females thriving in the business that I am already lucky to work in.
