Claire Wolfson + Bean Goods
Recent LA Transplant, Claire Wolfson has been girlbossing since 2012, when she realized cubicle life just wasn't for her. She got her degree in Apparel Design which was perfect for her brief stint in the corporate design world but even more perfect for her role as co-founder and CEO of Bean Goods, the hotspot for bad-ass clothing and accessories for doxie lovers, inspired by Claire's very own doxie, Bean.
Why do you do what you do?
I love having complete creative freedom in my work and life in general.
What is the best compliment you've ever received?
I can't think of any specific compliment but having our designs featured in NYLON mag & worn by people like Karlie Kloss & Derek Blasberg feel like huge compliments to me. Makes me feel like I'm doing something right!
Where do you thrive?
My favorite part of my job is producing our lookbooks. I love working with other creatives and seeing the concepts we create come to life. I also love building community through our social media channels. Our brand is curated for a very niche market and it's amazing to have channels dedicated to connecting with people who get what we're all about. We have some die hard fans who have supported us since we started in 2011!
What's one bad habit you can't seem to shake?
Looking at my phone before bed & the first thing in the morning. I've tried to shake that habit by getting up & doing yoga before launching Instagram but I suck at sticking to that plan!
What's the best idea you've heard recently?
Traveling more is always a good idea! It gets your creative juices & ideas flowing :)
What's the biggest lesson you learned this past year?
Go with your gut. Last year I was feeling really lost and I've learned that if you give yourself time you'll naturally figure things out. The fog will clear and all of a sudden you'll know exactly what to do.
